Science didn’t create our modern world’s problems, “Capitalism” Did.


The problem of the modern age isn’t something that’s reducible merely to biological determinism.  It’s not even the fault of materialism in a scientific or philosophical or epistemological sense.  The real problem of our modern world is commodification and the notion of making people and things into cheapened economic and cultural units.  Remember that when you hear religious critics complaining about contemporary society and values, and how science “did it all.”

Capitalism” did it, not science or scientific humanism.
